Aluminium Window Repairs

Aluminium window joint seal repair

Aluminium windows are a sleek, contemporary and sturdy window solution that typically require less maintenance than wooden windows.  However, this does not mean they are maintenance free.

Common problems with aluminium windows:

Deteriorating aluminium window frame seal joints

Deterioration of aluminium frame joint seals:

This is usually caused by the expansion and contraction of the seals surrounding the aluminium window frame as a result of the weather. If deteriorated, they can allow moisture and the hot summer or cold winter air into your house.

Resealing the windows will help keep moisture out and your heating and cooling bill under control.

Aluminium window latch and lock no longer working:

This is often the result of “pitting” in which dirt and grime from being exposed to the external elements can invade the joints, locks and latches. They could also have been damaged due to a break in.

These issues are easily repaired via specialist maintenance or a replacement of the handle or lock itself.

Repairing aluminium window so they slide and open easily

Aluminium window does not slide or open smoothly:

The ‘settling’ of a house into its foundations can create issues with windows not fitting within their frames anymore.

This can often be fixed with a re-fit of the window and window frame within its allocated space.

If you’re experiencing these or any other problems with your aluminium windows, we can help.
